A Taste of Waiwera

More random photos. This time North of Auckland... Didn't get much further than Waiwera. Here are some photos from that and I've also chucked in a few unrelated ones too...

NZ is famous for its ferns...
Though not necessarily this type

Located only 35 minutes north of Auckland on the
Hibiscus Coast is the picturesque
seaside town known as Waiwera.
Translated from the Maori language,
Waiwera means 'Hot Water'.

Old Mother Waiwera
They bottle award winning water too!

"In Roman mythology Bacchus the God of Wine
had wise and loyal companions known as

good food, good wine and good company"

Monarch Butterfly
Not many of them about at the moment,
but we found a caterpillar
